Finding the Best Sippy Cup

Many babies are first introduced to sippy cups when they’re around 5 or 6 months of age. Teaching your baby to drink from a sippy cup is part of the weaning process, whether you’re weaning from the bottle or weaning from the breast.
It can be a slow process, but if you remain consistent, they’ll get the hang of it eventually. The trick is to choose the right sippy cup. My kids flat out refused to drink out of certain sippy cups and a lot of parents have the same problem.
Here is a list of parents’ top rated, BPA-free sippy cups to help you find the right one for your baby:

The Born Free Trainer Cup is a favorite among parents because it doesn’t leak, it’s easy for their babies to hold, and it helps with transitioning from bottle to cup.
Price: $10.99

The Avent Magic Cup has a soft spout so it’s great for babies who are breastfeeding as it resembles the breast more than a sippy cup with a hard plastic spout. The shape of them makes it easy for babies to hold but you’ll probably want to upgrade to a sippy cup with handles when they become toddlers.
Price: $7.99 for twin pack

My own kids favor the Playtex Sippy Cups. I tried different brands over the years but the Playtex ones were the easiest for them to hold and drink out of. They take a beating and wash well in the dishwasher.
Price: $14.95

Some parents swear by the Foogo by Thermos Sippy Cup. It’s leak-proof and incredibly sturdy for kids who like to play rough with their cups. They’re small enough that they work great for little hands, but they work well for rambunctious toddlers too.
Price: $9.99

The Thinkbaby Trainer Cup is a Baby Tips reader favorite. A lot of parents find their babies won’t drink out of any other sippy cup.
Price: $8.92
